Cost per contact usually falls one of two ways. Either the work gets faster, or the quality bar gets lower and nobody says so out loud. AI is how we take the first route. Reading history, drafting the routine reply, writing the notes, finding the right article — the machine absorbs that, and the hour you are paying for goes on the part of the job that needs a human brain.
Consistency is the other half, and it is the part clients tend to underestimate. When quality monitoring covers every conversation rather than a sample, coaching stops being a debate about one unlucky call and starts being a conversation about a pattern. Weak spots surface while they are still fixable rather than in a review at the end of the quarter, and the answer a customer gets does not depend on which shift they happened to reach.
